17 November is celebrated as International
Students’ Day. It commemorates the Nazi storming of Czech universities in
1939, and the subsequent killing and
sending of students to concentration camps. The day is also a vehicle
for student activism! Every year, they raise awareness for students’ rights and
needs through various activities, always with the goal to improve higher
education for students and for society on a wider scale.

The College Union of IASE, Thrissur conducted a Quiz
programme for the students of the college to mark the day.
Five teams participated
and the First MEd students won the Quiz
competition and the first year BEd
English Optional students became Runners Up.
