112.Sanskrit Day




The  Department of Sanskrit, in association with Kerala Sanskrit Academy celebrated  Sanskrit Day in IASE, Thrissur, on Thursday 22 August 2019.


The programme commenced with a  special ‘Thought for the Day’ in which the significance of  Sanskrit language was highlighted.

Dr.Harinarayanan, Assistant Professor in Sanksrit welcomed  the guest for the day, Dr. KD.     Madhavan, Chairman, Kerala Sanskrit Academy.  Dr.C.Praveen, Principal i/c, IASE, Thrissur presided over  the function.
The significance of  learning  Sanskrit to  understand the real  culture and tradition of India and the illustrious ideal of  Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ , a Sanskrit phrase found in Hindu texts such as the Maha Upanishad, which means "the world is one family" were referred  to in the speeches delivered.
Prof(Dr.)Muthulakshmi  of Sree Sankaracharya  University of Kalady, delivered a special talk as part of the Seminar Series.
The Wall Magazine prepared by the students  of the  Department of Sanskrit  was released on the occasion. The students also  organized an exhibition.
