57. Workshop on Understanding the Self
With a view to enabling student-teachers to develop
sensibilities, dispositions, and skills that will later help them in
facilitating the personal growth of their own students while they teach, the
institute organized a three-day workshop on ‘Understanding the Self’ for the
third semester BEd students.
Ms.Anitha the co-ordinator, had included sessions by
Resource Persons which made use of activities which help trainees to revisit one’s childhood
experiences-influences, limitations and potentials and also think afresh on issues that most
closely concern them. Dr.C.Praveen, Principal, IASE, inaugurated the Workshop.

52. New Year Gift
Once assured that the day’s University Examination has been
postponed, the regular morning assembly on 01, January 2019 was held in the
Institute auditorium. The Principal welcomed the students and teachers back to the
Institute after Christmas vacation and wished everyone a pleasant and
fulfilling New Year.
The New Year
message dwelt largely on ‘New Year Resolutions’ which the students could take for
self improvement. The Principal drew the attention of the students to the role
they are expected to play in society “…that
of addressing the head(cognitive), heart(feelings) and hand(skills) of the learner assigned to them in future. Other
professions do not necessarily address all these three domains simultaneously. This
makes it imperative for prospective teachers to develop essential knowledge
base and competence to mould the learner assigned to them in future and this in
turn requires them to strive for self empowerment through resolutions however
small that they make on New Year’s day…”
The teachers who
addressed the students hoped that they would forget the sad experiences of the
past and join hands in working together
as a team.
For almost a month,
the members of the College Union 2018-19, AMOGHA, had been assiduously
compiling the notes for uploading in their new Blog. The Joint
Secretary, Ms. Adhya introduced the project and the Principal launched the
Blog, AMOGHA
RESOURCE WORLD …one of the best gifts a
College Union could ever give the
student community!

is hard to forget..…yet they all have to move forward…
The office staff celebrated New Year’s eve, lunching together. It
was also a time to welcome Mr. Sajan, who in December 2018, joined as Office
Assistant on transfer from Sri Achutha Menon, Government College, Thrissur.
As confirmation of
postponement of University Examination to be held on New Year Day, arrived a
bit late, many hostel inmates returned
from Christmas vacation and had to spend the New Year’s eve in the College
Hostel. But all the inmates of both the Boy’s and Girl’s Hostel had a surprise New Year’s eve treat!
