The Chair for Gandhian Studies and Research, University of Calicut had organized a National Seminar  on the New Education Policy 2019 in the EMS Seminar Complex of the University campus at  Tenhipalam on  25 July 2019.  The Discussions on NEP 2019 held in IASE, a few weeks ago (Post No.86 in this Blog) had led to several informal discussions among students on areas ranging from values and  gender to  institutional autonomy  and  Teacher Education. Most of these are areas  prescribed for study for the MEd programme. So it was not surprising  to find 21 students hire a vehicle and travel to Calicut University to participate in the National Seminar. Considering the sheer  number of papers submitted  by the students of IASE, Thrissur  alone, the organizers had to  introduce a parallel paper presentation  session.

The Principal, Dr.C.Praveen  who shows keen interest in Gandhian ideals presented a paper entitled :Reinventing  Swadesi Movement  To Fulfil NEP 2019 Aspirations-A Proposal. The Organizers  found it unique and invited the author, Dr.Praveen to present the paper once again, in the main Seminar Hall for the benefit of all the participants.

Back in the Institute, the following day (26 July 2019), the participants  shared their exciting experience of  attending the National Seminar in which they could without inhibition share their impressions on  the  Education Policy which would  be shaping the nation in the coming years!
