70. Arts Fest

At least some of you must be wondering what has art got to do in a teacher training college...Perhaps it is worth recalling the observation of  Mark Green, Art Teacher of Hackley School.:

The artist as teacher is a powerful and important role model whose professional identity helps to motivate students and provide them with a concrete example for artistic possibilities….Like many artists with day jobs, I do my creative work at night after my teaching responsibilities are fulfilled. A daily studio practice is crucial…Successful teaching employs the same intense mental, physical and emotional energies as utilized in the professional artist’s studio

The College Union, AMOGHA  organized Arts Day of the academic year 2018-19 on Tuesday, 19 March 2019.  Rehearsals for group events had commenced in the third week itself...Though the examination dates of the Fourth Semester BEd students were  announced it did not affect student participation.

Sri Santhosh Aechikanam, renowned Malayalam short story writer inaugurated the Arts Festival by lighting the traditional lamp. In his inaugural address he drew similarities  between the role of the artist and the teacher. The Fine Arts Secretary, Ms Amrutha P.Santhosh welcomed the  guest and participants. The function was presided over by the Principal, Dr.C.Praveen.  Felicitations for the programme was offered by Dr.Lakshmi R, (Arts Club Coordinator), Dr. Anju I, (Staff Council Secretary) and  Muhammed Nasik (Chairman College Union). Ms Midhila VS, (General Secretary College Union) offered the vote of thanks.

..The variety of  events  and the  wholehearted participation of both the BEd and MEd  students  made the Fest  quite memorable.
