The ‘Thought for the Day’ programme on 06 August
2019, was on the use and abuse of
nuclear weapons. Many spoke both in favour and against the possession and manufacture of nuclear weapons. Even the threat of
nuclear weapons falling into the
hands of terrorists was also
mentioned. For a few minutes it appeared that there is no
definite answer to the question whether possession of nuclear weapons will
ensure peace or create tension leading to war. However the screening of the short BBC video
on dropping of the atomic bomb, following
the ‘Thought for the Day’ gave
a very strong message...it is ‘PEACE
not WAR’...that humanity needs
now!
